Recognized as one of the country’s leading gynecologists by Good Housekeeping, Dr. Barter, previously, a professor at Lombardi Cancer Institute and in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Georgetown University Hospital, is now in private practice in the Washington DC area. He received his medical degree from The University of Virginia and completed his internship and residence in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University Medical Center followed by a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Alabama Medical Center.
Dr. Barter was listed in the Washingtonian as Top Doc and recently chosen as Top Doc in Northern Virginia this year. In addition, Dr. Barter has a particular interest pelvic surgery, laparoscopy, Proteomics as a new marker for Ovarian Cancer and treatment of Ovarian Cancer.
